Scott W. Hyder, a third-generation Phoenix native, is a sole practitioner at the Law Office of Scott W. Hyder, PLC. He has practiced law in Arizona for 25 years. He previously worked at the Phoenix law firm of Fennemore Craig, and was in-house counsel for homebuilders D.R. Horton and Standard Pacific Homes. Today he primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, bankruptcy, real estate, and commercial transactions.
Scott earned his B.A. degree in mathematics from the University of Arizona and his J.D. degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
Scott has lectured at the Arizona School of Real Estate and at legal education seminars around town, speaking on issues related to estate planning, bankruptcy, real estate, foreclosure, short sales and commercial transactions. He was an adjunct professor at the Arizona Summit Law School, teaching bankruptcy to third-year law students. He has contributed articles to the Arizona Republic, the East Valley Tribune and other publications.
In his spare time, Scott likes to perform on stage at several theaters around town.
